Ministry of Justice warned of scam emails sent in the name of Suomi.fi service, said an official press release on Thursday.

The Ministry has been informed that the messages showed "Oikeusministeriö (Ministry of Justice), Pelastusviraston asiakirjat (Rescue agency's documents) " as the sender.

The Ministry urged the people not to click on the link in the message and delete it.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency warned of scam messages sent in the name of Suomi.fi.

The latest scam messages arrived from addresses ending in @info.fi ([email protected]) and the content was similar to the e-mail notifications sent by Suomi.fi Messages, which inform the recipient that a new message has arrived in Suomi.fi Messages.

However, it is a phishing message that tries to get people to click on a link in the message and hand over bank ID to criminals.

The agency said that notifications of a new Suomi.fi Message are always received from [email protected]. It urged the people to always check the sender address and pay attention, as often the sender addresses of scam messages are very similar to the correct sending address.

If anyone mistakenly entered credit card information or online banking ID, the person may have become a victim of fraud.

In this case, people are urged to first contact with bank and then report the offence to the police.
