10 killed in road mishaps in January

A total of 10 persons were killed and 189 others injured in 153 road accidents in the country in January 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of fatalities was one lower and number of persons injured 14 lower than in January 2023.
Out of the deceased, five travelled by passenger car, one by lorry. One pedestrian, one cyclist and two other road users were also killed in January.
Among those who died, nine were men and one was a woman.
