Razmyar made Vice-Chair of Socialist International

Nasima Razmyar, Vice-Chairperson of the main opposition party in the parliament, Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) on Sunday has been elected one of the Vice-Chairs of the Socialist International (SI), said the SDP in a press release.

The council of SI, the global organisation of social democratic parties was held in Madrid in Spain with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, also President of Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in the chair.

“The meeting of global social democrats was held at the weekend. … I am really pleased to be able to serve as a Vice President of SI and to work on international issues to strengthen the entire organization,” Razmyar wrote in Finnish in her social media platform X.

A total of 58 councilors from different countries were present at the council to elect new leaders who also discussed various international issues including Israeli attacks in Gaza, Ukraine war, global economy and the rise of extremism in the world.
