Husband allegedly kills wife in Liperi

A woman was killed allegedly by her husband inside their residence at Onttola area in Liperi, a municipality in North Karelia region on Tuesday, police said in a press release on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the afternoon on the day and police recovered the body of the 36-year old victim with several marks of injuries from their detached house.

The police also arrested the 37-year-old suspected killer from the spot and took him to their custody at Joensuu police station.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased and the suspect but after the preliminary investigation they said that the woman was killed allegedly by her husband.

The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.

Police started to interrogate the suspect on Wednesday, and he will be placed before court on Friday.
