The Helsinki Police Department has received reports indicating that scam calls have been made to Finnish-speaking elderly people living in Norway and Denmark in the name of Senior Constable Antti Kopra, said police in a press release on Friday.

The Conmen disguise of police attempting to obtain bank cards, access bank accounts or obtain online banking information of especially elderly people.

The A genuine police officer will never ask for online banking codes over the phone or through any other means or request money, said police, adding that Police phone numbers start with 0295.

Police also urged the people to disconnect the call, if someone claiming to be a police officer calls and asks for money or personal information.

If anyone has already given personal or bank information, the person needs to contact his or her bank immediately and should report to the people.

The report an offence could be filed online at poliisi.fi or at any police station.

Police, however, forbade to call the emergency response centre in this regard.
