EstLink 2, one of the electricity transmission links between Finland and Estonia will remain out of service until August 31, reported Estonian Broadcasting Corporation ERR on Friday.

Power transmission through the EstLink 2 remained suspended flowing a glitch developed in the cable on January 26.

Estonian grid operator Elering on Thursday confirmed the specific location of the glitch, which took place on the Estonian side.

Terming the location as a geotechnically demanding area and the cable as unique, an updated Urgent Market Notification (UMM) said that EstLink 2 will remain out of service until August 31, said the report, quoting Elering.

Previously it was estimated that the link would remain out of service until March 31.
