2 burnt to death in Kitee house fire

Two people were killed in a fire at a detached house in Kitee, a municipality in North Karjala region late Saturday night, police said in a press release early Sunday.

The fire broke out at about 9:00 pm and engulfed house immediately.

Responding to an alarm from an outsider, rescue service people rushed to the spot and tried to bring the fire under control.

The firefighters doused the fire after an operation for several hours and recovered the bodies of two men, residents of the house from the debris.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased.

The origin of the fire could not be known immediately but rescue service people and police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
