Posti to issue stamp marking Sweden’s NATO membership

National postal and logistic services operator Posti will issue a postage stamp celebrating Sweden’s NATO membership, said posti in a press release on Monday.

The design of the stamp started quickly once the membership was secured. The stamp is designed by Anssi Kähärä.

“The flags of Sweden and NATO symbolically intertwine in the stamp. The stamp is visually impressive while the overall look is simple and graphic,” said designer Anssi Kähärä.

In September 2023, Posti issued a stamp celebrating Finland’s NATO membership.

“We announced at the time that we would also celebrate Sweden’s membership with a stamp once the country became a member of NATO. It’s great that things moved along. We will publish the stamp with the May publication,” said Tommi Kantola, Design Manager of Posti.

He is responsible for the selection of the artists and for providing guidance on the artistic work.

On May 8, Posti will issue four new stamp publications with a total of ten different stamp designs. In addition to the NATO stamp, themes include The Royal Finnhorse Races, spring celebrations and Europa stamps with the theme of underwater life.
