The Finnish President has been provided with a new official state car worth about 1.1 million euros, said the President Office in a press release on Thursday.

The car is an armoured Audi A8 L Security quattro and was put into service on Thursday 11 April 2024 replacing the previous 12 year old state car of the President.

The new official state car was procured through a framework agreement put out to tender by the State.

The tender was conducted in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Office, which also renewed its corresponding official car. The tender was launched in autumn 2022.

The procurement of an official state car for the President is not tied to a term of office or a person, but is a long-term lifecycle acquisition in line with the operational and financial planning of the Office of the President.

About half of the car price is car tax and the total amount also includes costs for regular maintenance, safety inspections and training.
