1 crashed under train wheels in Kempele

One person was killed in a train accident in Kempele, a municipality under North Ostrobothnia region late Thursday night, said police in a press release on Friday.

The incident took place at about 8:00 pm when a train knocked down the person and crashed under the wheels near Kempele railway station. The person died on the spot.

The police, however, did not divulge the details about the reason behind the accident and the identity of the victim.

Police did not suspect any crime link to the incident.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
