33 killed in road mishaps in Q1

A total of six people were killed and 176 were injured in 126 road accidents in the country in March, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of fatalities was eight lower and number of persons injured 28 lower than in March 2023.

Out of the deceased, four travelled by passenger car and two were pedestrians.

Among those who died, four were men and two women.

Meanwhile, 33 people were killed and 553 other injured in 429 road accidents from January to March, 2024.

The number of deaths was four higher and number of persons injured 81 lower than in the corresponding period of 2023.

Out of the deceased, 19 travelled by passenger car, three by van and one by lorry. One cyclist, five Pedestrians and four other road users were also killed.
