Finland to provide training support to Ukrainian Armed Forces

The President and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy on Friday said that Finnish Defence Forces will continue to provide training support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine with approximately 20 persons.

The Committee on Friday at a meeting discussed the provision of training support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the UK-led Operation Interflex and made the observation, said an official press release.

The Committee also received a briefing on the deepening of bilateral defence cooperation between Finland and the United States.

Topics on the agenda included the accession of the Finnish Defence Forces to the United States National Guard State Partnership Program, defence materiel and technology cooperation, and exercise cooperation.

The meeting also discussed the preparations for the Government Report on Finnish Foreign and Security Policy.

In addition, the Security Committee’s annual report on the security of society was also presented at the meeting.
