2 women stabbed in Helsinki, suspect held

Two women were injured when a miscreant attacked them with sharp weapon at Haaga area in Helsinki late Wednesday night, police said.

The incident took place at about 7:20 pm in an apartment building at Eliel Saarinen area in the locality.

Responding to an alarm, police rushed to the spot and recovered the injured women. They were sent to hospital immediately.

Police arrested one person in connection with the incident.

Police, however, did not divulge identities of the victims and the attacker but said that they knew each other.

The police are investigating into the case as two attempted murders and did not disclose detail about the incident at the preliminary stage of the investigation.
