9 killed in road mishaps in April

Nine people were killed and 186 others injured in 155 road accidents in Finland in April 2024, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of fatalities was one higher and number of persons injured 41 lower than in April 2023.

Out of the deceased, six travelled by passenger car, two were pedestrians and one was cyclist.

Among those who died, seven were men and two women.

A total of 44 persons were killed and 739 s injured in 587 road accidents in the country from January to April 2024.

The number of deaths was five higher and number of persons injured 126 lower than in the corresponding period of 2023.

Of the persons who were killed, 26 travelled by passenger car, three by van, one by moped and one by lorry.

Pedestrians killed numbered seven and cyclists two. In addition, four other road users were killed.
