All 6 security guards acquitted of Espoo mall woman death charges

All the six security guards, who were suspected of negligent homicide in the death of a woman took place at the Iso Omena shopping centre in Espoo last year, were acquitted of the charges.

The Western Uusimaa District Court on Wednesday announced the verdict of the case saying that the accused were acquitted as the link to the woman´s death and the guards' actions were not proved beyond doubt, local media reported.

Earlier on January 7, 2023 the woman died when security guards of the Iso Omena shopping centre were arresting her inside the shopping centre.

The police are investigating into the death as suspected murder.

The police on January 8 and 9 interrogated all the four security guards, suspects of the alleged murder of a woman.

On January 11, Police said that suffocation was not the cause of death of the woman.
