Adlercreutz elected RKP Chair

The Suomenruotsalainenkansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland-RKP), a component of the right-wing four-party alliance government on Sunday elected former minister Anders Adlercreutz as its Chairperson.
Adlercreutz has been elected the new chairperson of RKP at a party council held in Helsinki beating another aspirant Otto Andersson, chair of the party´s parliamentary group by 183 votes to 84.
He will take over as Minister of Education replacing the outgoing party Chair Anna-Maja Henriksson, who served as the RKP Chief for the last eight years.
The party also elected Ramieza Mahdi, Silja Borgarsdóttir Sandelin and Sandra Bergqvist as Vice-Chairs.
Earlier in February, Henriksson announced that she would not contest for the party leadership.
