Antti Pelttari, the head of the country’s security police (Supo) said the terrorism situation in the country has become complicated fast, reported the local media.
According to the Supo chief, the situation has been affected by the situation in Syria and Iraq as well as the development of radicalisation.
Pelttari said the country is now on an equal footing with other Nordic countries.
Pelttari, who has been attending the Sälen Security Conference in Sweden, said cooperation between the Nordic countries is very important in the fight against terrorism as the so-called ‘target persons’ move from one country to another.
Pelttari said it is extremely worrying that many who left the country to fight abroad had been radicalised in the country.
