2 killed in road mishaps in Säkylä, Miehikkälä, 1 drowns in Rovaniemi

Two people were killed in separate road mishaps in Säkylä and Miehikkälä while another person drowned in Rovaniemi on Wednesday, police said.

A motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Pyhän Henrikintie road at Säkylä, a municipality in Satakunta region on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred when the motorcycle collided with a tractor trailer on the road resulting death of the motorcyclist on the spot.

Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased and detail about the accident.

Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the accident to find out detail about the reason behind the death.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in a tractor accident at Miehikkälä, a municipality in south-eastern Finland on Wednesday afternoon at about 4:00 pm.

The Police, however, did not disclose any information about the accident and the deceased.

Police will investigate into the accident and will give more information in this regard later.

Meanwhile, one person drowned in Kemijoki river in Rovaniemi, a municipality in Lapland on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place at about 7:30am when an excavator fell down into the river.

Responding to an alarm police and rescue service people rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the driver of the excavator from under the water.

The reason behind the accident could not be known.

The Police are investigating into the incident to find the cause of the death.
