Finns urged to avoid traveling to Israel

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs on Saturday urged the Finnish people to avoid all travelling to Israel and in the region following the prevailing tense situation in the Middle East.

The Embassy of Finland in Tel Aviv in its social media posts also urged the people to follow the instructions of the local authorities.

“The situation in Israel and in the region is expected to remain tense in the near future due to recent events. The embassy continues following the situation. follow the instructions of the local authorities,” the embassy wrote in its Instagram on Saturday.

The Foreign Ministry was closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon but did not take any decision to close down the Finnish Embassy in Beirut, although Sweden on Saturday temporary closed down its mission in Beirut, local media reported.

Terming the situation very worrying, Sweden also advised the embassy staff to relocate to Cyprus.
