Another immigrant background student stabbed in Oulu

Miscreant stabbed a foreign background school student with sharp weapon and injured him critically near his school in Oulu on Monday, police said.

It was the third incident of attacks on foreign background people in Oulu within a span of less than three months.

The Monday´s incident took place when a 23-year-old local man attacked the student of Kastelli high school with a knife on the road in between the school and Oulu University Hospital.

The student sustained serious wounds and taken to Oulu University Hospital immediately.

Police arrested the attacker after the incident.

The police, however, did not divulge the detail about the incident and the identity of the student at the preliminary stage of the investigation.

The case is being investigating as attempted murder.

But police said that the incident was not connected to the racist attacks on immigrants took place at Valkea shopping centre in Oulu in June.

Earlier on June 19, miscreant stabbed a foreign background student and injured him critically outside of the Valkea shopping centre.

on June 13, a 12-year-old child with foreign background was injured when a man with the background of extreme right activities attacked the child with knife at Valkea shopping centre.
