2 burnt to death in Haapavesi house fire

Two people were burnt to death in a fire at a house at Mieluskylä area in Haapavesi, a municipality under North Ostrobothnia region on Thursday, police said.

The fire broke out in the early morning and engulfed the house immediately.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service people rushed to the spot and tried to bring the fire under control.

The firefighters doused the fire and recovered the bodies of the deceased from the debris.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased.

The origin of the fire could not be known immediately but rescue service people and police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
