The Presidents at a meeting on the sidelines of the UN summit in New York also discussed various international issues including the situation in Gaza.
“I met with the President of Iran, Dr. Pezeshkian. I called on Iran to stop providing weapons to Russia. We also discussed the situation in Gaza and options for diplomacy. We agreed that further dialogue is needed,” Stubb wrote in a post on his social media platform X after the meeting.
The President also held a meeting with King of Jordan Abdullah II on Monday, on the second day of his five-day visit to U.S.
“Tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate. Had an opportunity to get firsthand information from His Majesty King Abdullah II. Jordan is always a force stability in the region,” wrote Stubb in another X post.
