The Finnish Food Authority will temporarily lay off all its personnel in phases for two weeks in late 2024, said an official press release on Thursday.
The authority took the decision as a part of its austerity measures with the view to achieve financial and operational adjustment target.
Due to this and other adjustment measures, the Finnish Food Authority’s service level will be somewhat reduced.
The lay-offs may also delay the customer service of Finnish Food Authority laboratories.
Delays may occur in all operations and all Finnish Food Authority laboratories in Oulu, Kuopio, Seinäjoki, Loimaa and Helsinki.
However, the laboratories aim to serve their customers as well as possible and will target any delays at non-urgent testing.
In case of any significant delay, the authority will communicate with the client.
