Youth sentenced to life term for killing girl after rape

A teenage man was sentenced to life term imprisonment for killing a teenage girl after rape at Valkeakoski, a municipality in Pirkanmaa region in late May this year, local media reported.
The Pirkanmaa District Court on Thursday awarded the punishment to the 19-year-old man as the allegations of rape and killing the 15-year-old girl brought against him were proved beyond doubt.
The convict admitted the charges of rape and murder but denied allegation of killing the girl intentionally.
The girl was killed on May 25, 2024 and her body was dumped in a nearby forest.
Police arrested the convict from Valkeakoski area on the same day in connection with the murder.
