Boy killed after scaffold collapse at construction site in Mäntsälä

A six-year-old boy died when scaffolding of an under-construction building collapsed on him in Mäntsälä, a municipality under Uusimaa region on Sunday, police said in a press release.

The accident took place at about 12:00 O´clock when two boys of five and six years old were playing near the under construction building at Kenkäkalliontie area.

At certain stage the scaffolding collapsed on the children and they were injured critically.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and tried to resuscitate but the six-year-old boy succumbed to his wounds immediately.

The rest boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the victims.

The police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the accident.
