1 injured in Jyväskylä shooting, 2 suspects held

One person was critically injured in a gun attack at Keltinmäki in Jyväskylä in the early morning of Saturday, police said in a press release.

The incident took place at about 5:00 a.m. when miscreant fired gunshots at the person at the stairs of an apartment building at Helokantie area in the locality.

The victim sustained severe bullet wounds and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Responding to an alarm, several patrols of police rushed to the spot and started preliminary investigation into the incident to find out more information in this regard.

The police arrested two suspects in connection with the incident.

They, however, did not divulge detail identities of the victim and the suspects at the preliminary stage of the investigation.

The motive of the shooting could not be known immediately.

Police are investigating into the incident as attempted murder.
