President, PM congratulate Trump on election win

President Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo on Wednesday congratulated Republican candidate Donald Trump for his election as the President of USA.

Expressing immediate reactions in separate posts on their social media platform, they also expressed interest to work closely with the Trump and his administration.

“Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump. I look forward to working closely with you and your administration on the major challenges of our time. Finland and the US are close allies on so many fronts, including security, technology and business,” Stubb wrote in a post on his social media platform X.

The Prime Minister in his post on X also congratulated the newly elected Vice-President of USA, J.D. Vance.

“Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance. The relations between Finland and the United States are strong and comprehensive. I look forward to working together as Allies to advance our common interests in security and prosperity,” Orpo wrote.

Donald Trump has garnered enough Electoral College votes to win the presidency.
