23 conscripts injured in road mishap in Lapland

Twenty-three conscripts were injured in a road accident at Ivalo in Lapland on Wednesday morning, police said in a press release.
The accident took place when a tracked, all-terrain transport vehicle of Border Guard skidded off the road and fell into a ditch during an exercise in the training area.
All the conscripts onboard were injured and two of them were in a critical condition.
The critically injured conscripts were taken to Lapland Central Hospital while the rest 21 were taken to Ivalo Health Centre.
The police are investigating into the case to find out the reason behind the accident.
After the preliminary investigation police said that the vehicle was overloaded.
It took more personnel and equipment than its capacity.
The road condition was normal and there was no snow or ice on the road at the time of accident, police said.
