12 killed in road mishaps in Finland in October

A total of 12 people were killed and 295 others injured in 238 road accidents in Finland in October, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of fatalities was five lower and number of persons injured 28 lower than in October 2023.

Out of the deceased, five travelled by passenger car, one by moped, one by lorry, two were cyclists and two were pedestrians.

Among those who died, 11 were men and one was a woman.

Meanwhile, a total of 138 people were killed and 2,802 others injured in 2,302 road traffic accidents in the country from January to October period.

The number of deaths was 13 lower and number of persons injured 233 lower than in the corresponding period of 2023.

Of the persons who were killed, 67 travelled by passenger car, five by van, five by moped, 15 by motorcycle and three by lorry.

Pedestrians killed numbered 14 and cyclists 16. In addition, 13 other road users were killed.
