Youth gunned down in Espoo

A youth was killed when miscreants fired gunshots at him at a public place in Espoo early Thursday night, police said in a press release.

The incident took place just after midnight on Kirstinmäki road at Suvela area when the miscreants attacked the victim of under 20 years old with firearms.

He sustained severe bullet wounds and died on the spot.

The police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

Police suspected involvement of criminal street gangs in the attack and investigating into the incident as murder by suspected street gangs and criminal networks.

The case has been transferred to street gang investigating unit of Helsinki Metropolitan Police.

Police did not disclose detail information about the incident at the initial stage of the investigation.
