Wanted suspect of Espoo youth murder held

An Estonian national, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in the youth murder in Espoo was arrested on Monday, police said in a press release on Tuesday.

Earlier, Police disclosed the photo of the suspect named Güzel and sought help from people to arrest him.

Police said that the suspect was arrested based on information from people but did not disclose detail from where and how he was arrested.

“We thank the people for number of tips that helped to make the arrests,” said Detective Inspector Marko Forss in the press release.

The police already arrested several people in connection with the murder and one of them still remained in police custody.

Police, however, did not disclose the total number of suspects of the murder.

The street gang investigating unit of Helsinki Metropolitan Police is investigating into the case in cooperation with the Western Uusimaa Police.

The murder took place on early night of December 5 on Kirstinmäki road at Suvela area when the miscreants attacked the victim of under 20 years old with firearms.
