Police transferred the Eagle S tanker, the suspect of Estlink 2 submarine cable damage from the Gulf of Finland to the Svartbeck inner anchorage near Porvoo, said police in a press release on Saturday.
The transfer was made, because the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have seized the vessel.
The new location is to secure investigative measures taken in the criminal investigation.
Led by the Helsinki Police Department, the Finnish Border Guard extended support in the operation where the tanker was guided by two pilots and escort tugboats Svartbeck, an inner anchorage near the Port of Kilpilahti.
From the point of view of the police, the new location offers a better option for carrying out investigative measures.
Under the Police Act, the police have set up a one-nautical-mile exclusion zone around the tanker to ensure operational safety of the authorities. A no-fly zone is currently in effect around Sköldvik Bay.
