Suspected arson kills 2 in Pirkkola

Two people died in a fire in a detached house area in Pirkkola, Helsinki, on Saturday evening. Both of the deceased were found inside the engulfed house, reported local media.

The second victim was initially brought out for emergency medical care but could not be saved, said the national broadcaster Yle report.

Police said in a statement that they had received a report of assault at the same address on Saturday evening. The police patrol, however, arrived when the house was already on fire

According to the police, there is probable reason to suspect that the fire was started deliberately.
