4 teens killed as car falls into river in Nurmijärvi

Four teenagers were killed in a road accident at Klaukkala in Nurmijärvi, a municipality under Uusimaa region early Saturday night, police said.

The accident took place at about 3:50 a.m. when a private car skidded off the road and fell into a river.

Responding to an alarm from a passerby, police and rescue service people rushed to the spot and found four people dead in the car.

The deceased are in between 17 and 19 years old but police did not divulge the detail identities of the victims.

The reason behind the accident could not be known immediately.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the case to find out the circumstances surrounding the incident and the reasons behind the accident.
