Stubb congratulates Trump, thanks Biden for close cooperation

President Alexander Stubb on Monday congratulated the newly appointed US President, Donald Trump and also thanked the immediate past US President, Joe Biden for his cooperation with Finland during his tenure.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you Donald Trump as you assume office as the President of the United States. The US is our key strategic partner and Ally. I look forward to close cooperation during your term,” Stubb wrote in a post on his social media platform X.

Earlier on the day, the President in another post also extended his thanks to Biden for his cooperation and support throughout Finland's Nato membership process.

“I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to you ( Biden) for the excellent cooperation between our two countries. United States is for us a close friend and a key partner. Thank you for your steadfast support throughout Finland's Nato membership process,” Stubb wrote in his post.

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol at noon on Monday, beginning his second term as he returns to the White House after four years.
