Talvitie becomes new Science Minister, Multala shifted to Environment

The President on Friday appointed Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) lawmaker Mari-Leena Talvitie as the new Minister of Science and Culture, said a government press release.
The ruling Kokoomus brought changes to the cabinet of the four-party alliance government following departure of Minister of Climate and the Environment Kai Mykkänen from the government as he will take over as the Mayor of Espoo City on February 1.
The President also appointed Minister of Science and Culture Sari Multala to the post of Minister of Climate and the Environment.
On the same occasion, the President released Kai Mykkänen from his duties as Minister of Climate and the Environment.
Multala also replaced Mykkänen in the Ministerial Committee on European Union Affairs.
