President Alexander Stubb on Thursday had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said the Finnish President Office in a press release.
The Presidents discussed Finland’s support for Ukraine and steps to find a sustainable and just conclusion to Russia’s war of aggression.
“I had a great and constructive conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, where we discussed security guarantees, arms and ammunition supplies, and investments in Ukraine’s defense industry,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on his social media platform.
He also told the Finnish President about his Thursday´s meeting with General Kellogg.
“Ukraine, the U.S., and Europe must act together—and sit at the negotiating table together. A joint plan and coordinated steps are the foundation of the just and lasting peace we all need—and that we will achieve,” Zelenskyy added.
Stubb made the phone call following participating remotely in a high-level meeting on Ukraine and European security hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday.
Stubb and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo attended the meeting through videoconference.
After the meeting, Stubb said at a press conference that a consensus was reached on what Europe should do.
