President Alexander Stubb on Monday visited Ukraine marking the third year of Russia´s invasion, said the President Office in a press release.

With the visit, Finland showed its strong and continued support for Ukraine in a situation, where Ukraine has fought against Russia's war of aggression for three years.

During the visit Stubb participated in a plenary session on supporting Ukraine and delivered a short statement where leaders of different countries also took part.

The President also met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials.

Speaking on the occasion Stubb said, for him this war is largely about the existence of Ukraine as a nation and Ukraine must obtain a just peace, reported national broadcaster Yle.

"If Russia gets what it wants now, this won't end in Ukraine; Putin will continue on," said the Yle report, quoting Stubb as saying.

President Stubb last visited Ukraine in April 2024.
