Finland marks 3rd anniversary of war in Ukraine

The third anniversary of the Russia´s war of aggression in Ukraine was observed in Finland on Monday showing solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
People from different strata gathered at Helsinki's Senate Square in the evening for a candlelight vigil and vowed to continue their support to Ukraine.
The event "Light for Ukraine" started at 18.00 Senate Square where more than 2000 people took part to send a message of hope, justice and peace, local media and police said.
The programme includes performances by Ukrainian choirs as well as greetings from Helsinki mayor Juhana Vartiainen and paralympic champions Anna Hontar and Yaroslav Semenenko.
Finnish state leadership and diplomats from different foreign embassies also attended at the event.
The Light for Ukraine event was organised by the Lutheran Church in Helsinki, Mothersforpeace ry, and the Ukrainian Association in Finland in cooperation with the City of Helsinki, the University of Helsinki, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland and Iceland.
The building of the Foreign Ministry of Finland was illuminated in yellow and blue for Ukraine and its people, fighting for their independence and sovereignty.
