Man stabbed to death in Tampere, suspect held

Miscreant allegedly killed an adult man in Tampere late Friday night, police said in a press release on Saturday.

The murder took place at about 11:20 p.m. when an adult man attacked the victim with sharp weapon at an open place on Näsijärvenkatu road area.

Responding to an alarm police and rescue service people rushed to the spot and found the victim critically injured. He succumbed to his wounds immediately.

Police arrested the suspect from the spot.

The deceased and the suspect knew each other, said Detective Inspector Ona Autere.

Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the victim and the suspect and their relation.

Police did not disclose the detail about the incident at the initial stage of the investigation.

Police are investigating into the case as suspected murder.
