Finland looks into option for joining Ukraine’s security plans

Finland is looking into options for participating in Ukraine’s security arrangements in line with its own security interests, according to a committee on Foreign and Security Policy.

President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy at a meeting on Friday discussed the current situation in Ukraine, said an official press release.

The meting discussed efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The committee also discussed the meeting of leaders on Ukraine scheduled for Friday, which will focus on the next steps towards ending Russia’s war of aggression and on security arrangements to support Ukraine.

President Alexander Stubb will participate in a virtual meeting at the invitation of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, said the President Office in a press release on Friday.

The meeting is a follow-up to the summit on Ukraine hosted by Prime Minister Starmer in London on 2 March 2025.
