All the opposition parties in the parliament on Wednesday tabled a no-confidence motion against the four-party alliance government over the move to cut in education and social security, said the Parliament in a press release.
Leaders of the Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP), Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland), Vihreä liitto (Finnish Green League), Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) and Liike Nyt (Movement Now) - filed the interpellation asking the government to explain the reasons behind the additional cuts.
SDP lawmaker Eveliina Heinäluoma raised the issue and was the first signatory in the interpellation.
The government will respond to the interpellation in a plenary session within 15 days.
After receiving the reply to the interpellation, the Parliament will hold a debate on the issue and proceed to a no-confidence motion against the government or a particular minister.
