Stubb updates Zelenskyy about meeting with Trump

President Alexander Stubb on Sunday had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy and shared the details of his Saturday´s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, said the Ukrainian President Office in a press release.

They discussed cooperation with the United States, steps to achieve a just peace, and necessary pressure on Russia.

“I spoke with the President of Finland Alexander Stubb. I thanked him for all the support Finland is providing, and we discussed ways to strengthen joint efforts with our partners to establish a lasting peace and ensure security. Alexander shared details of his meeting with President of the United States,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on his social media platform X.

The Ukrainian President expressed his gratitude for all the assistance and support provided by Finland.

Ukraine is ready to work with its American partners as meaningfully and quickly as possible to bring peace closer, said the press release, adding that there is a common understanding that the ceasefire must be unconditional and reliable.

President Alexander Stubb and his counterpart in United States Donald Trump on Saturday met at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, USA.

Meanwhile, Stubb arrived in London on Sunday and will meet with Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on Monday.

The meeting will focus on bilateral relations between Finland and the United Kingdom, the strengthening of support for Ukraine and the efforts to end Russia’s war of aggression, as well as the global security situation, said the President Office in a press release.

Stubb will also meet with Richard Moore, Chief of the UK Secret Intelligence Service.
