Finland on Thursday strongly criticised the Israeli attacks in Gaza that killed 15 humanitarian workers.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a post on its social media platform X also demanded investigation into the attacks and to hold the responsible persons accountable.

“We deplore the reported Israeli attacks that killed 15 humanitarian workers in Gaza. Attacks on humanitarian workers are clearly prohibited under international humanitarian law. The incident must be thoroughly investigated and those responsible held accountable,” the ministry wrote in the post.

Earlier on Tuesday, UN humanitarians and partners expressed deep shock at the killing of 15 colleagues on duty in southern Gaza by Israeli forces whose remains were recovered on March 30 from a shallow grave after a week-long rescue operation.

One of the workers still remained still missing.

The available information indicated that the first team was killed by Israeli forces on 23 March, and that other emergency and aid crews were struck one after another over several hours as they searched for their missing colleagues, said the UN in a press release.
