Man burnt to death in Tampere

A man was burnt to death in a fire that broke out in an apartment in Tampere on Sunday.

The fire started shortly after 11.00am from the first floor of the apartment building.

The rescue department discovered the victim at the entry of the apartment. Rescue workers guess the victim is a 52-year-old man who lived alone in the apartment.

The identity of the victim will be confirmed later after completion of investigation, said the police.

The fire was confined to a relatively small area. The spread of smoke and soot to the stairwell and other parts of the building was relatively small.
