21 snowmobile riders fined in Kilpisjärvi

Twenty-one snowmobile riders were fined in Kilpisjärvi during a joint operation conducted by the Lapland and Metsähallitus law-enforcers, reported the local media.
About 300 snowmobiles were inspected during the operation. Sixteen of the snowmobile riders were fined for riding outside the permitted routes or areas.
Two other riders were fined for exceeding the speed limit and two riders and a passenger for not using helmets.
None of the inspected riders was, however, fined for riding under the influence of alcohol.
