Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will attend the Nordic and Indian prime ministers’ summit scheduled to be held in Stockholm on April 17, said an official press release.

The PM will also hold bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Besides global issues, the summit agenda will also focus on the development of economic relations between the Nordic countries and India.

Fostering trade and investment will also be a key theme of the bilateral meeting between Sipilä and Modi.

The two prime ministers met in February 2016 in Mumbai in conjunction with the Team Finland trade mission to India.

Opportunities for cooperation between the two countries exist in areas such as solar energy, other renewable energy sources, sustainable urban development, the circular economy, education and information technology.
