Prime Minister Juha Sipilä on Saturday presided over a Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland) party council meeting in Lahti where he raised important issues regarding the 2019 parliamentary elections, reported the local media outlet MTV news.

“In a year’s time we shall know which party will form the government. This is the year to say what we want to accomplish in the next parliamentary term,” said Sipilä.

Sipilä pointed out that four years ago the party topped the polls and competed with the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) for the position of the country’s largest political party.

The Suomen Keskusta in the council described its aspirations for the coming parliamentary term. The party, among other things, aims to create 200,000 new jobs in 10 years time as well as come up with a social contract.

Sipilä said the past three years have seen the creation of 90,000 new jobs and that the social contract has been around for about one and a half year.
