3 killed in central Finland car accident

Three people died and two others were seriously injured after three cars collided on the road between Konnevesi and Suolahti, central Finland, on Monday, local media reported.

A teenage girl and a man died immediately after the accident, and another middle-aged man died of injuries on the way to the hospital.

A 10-year-old boy and a woman were taken to the hospital for treatment, reported Finnish national broadcaster Yle.

According to the preliminary information from police, a car from the direction of Konnevesi and another car from Suolahti collided first, and then a third car from Suolahti collided with the first two cars.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
