Niinistö to attend Tallinn Lennart Meri Conference

President Sauli Niinistö will be the main speaker at the Lennart Meri Conference in Tallinn scheduled to be held on May 13, said a press release of the President Office on Monday.

Niinistö will also meet his Estonian counterpart Kersti Kaljulaid during his visit.

This year's Lennart Meri Conference will discuss security threats facing the western world and opportunities for resolving them.

The title of the conference is ‘Darkest Just Before the Dawn?’. In his speech, Niinistö will consider international security challenges from Finland's perspective.

The Lennart Meri Conference is an annual event focusing on foreign and security policy. The conference is organised by the International Centre for Defence and Security, which is based in Estonia.
